Job Description:
The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority is seeking a motivated Clinical Assistant for a full-time position in Orthopaedic Surgery at the Winnipeg Health Science Center.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The successful applicant will work in a shared position 50:50 between the Orthopaedic Adult Trauma service and Orthopaedic Spine service. The individual will work in a team with surgeons, residents, students, and other allied health staff. Duties of this position will include performing history and physical exams, see patients in the Emergency department or outpatient clinic, manage medical issues on the in-patient units, initiating pre/peri/postoperative diagnostic and therapeutic investigations/interventions, dictating discharge and death summaries, attending rounds on admitted patients, attending discharge planning rounds, and communicating with interdisciplinary healthcare team regarding individual care of patients.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba as a Clinical Assistant

- Candidates must be an internationally trained physician and graduated from an accredited educational program

- Must have successfully completed the RCA Part I exam administered through the University of Manitoba Division of Continuing Professional Development

- Must be eligible for a Medical Staff Appointment with the WRHA

- Prior experience in the area of Surgery preferred, but not required
