Job Description:
The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority is seeking a motivated Physician Assistant for a full-time position in Orthopedic Surgery at the Winnipeg Health Science Center.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The successful applicant will work in a shared position 50:50 between the Orthopaedic Adult Trauma service and Orthopaedic Spine service. The individual will work in a team with surgeons, residents, students, and other allied health staff. Duties of this position will include performing history and physical exams, see patients in the Emergency department or outpatient clinic, manage medical issues on the in-patient units, initiating pre/peri/postoperative diagnostic and therapeutic investigations/interventions, dictating discharge and death summaries, attending rounds on admitted patients, attending discharge planning rounds, and communicating with interdisciplinary healthcare team regarding individual care of patients.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba as a PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT

- Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant educational program and eligible for national certification

- Must be eligible for a Medical Staff Appointment with the WRHA

- Prior experience in the area of Surgery preferred, but not required
