Life Enrichment Opportunity in Alliston, ON
We are currently seeking a Life Enrichment Coordinator at our community, Kingsmere Retirement Suites, in Alliston, ON. This is an exciting opportunity for an innovative, energetic individual with a strong ability to build relationships.

The Life Enrichment Coordinator assesses the social and recreational needs of each resident. Plans and directs the implementation and regular evaluation of the recreation/social programs for the residents, in accordance with corporate policy guidelines, legislative requirements following budgetary allowances.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Participates in assessments completed upon resident’s move–in to accommodate the resident’s personal interests.
    Plans, implements, directs and evaluates the social/recreation programs relating to the physical, psychological, social, recreational and spiritual needs of the residents.
    Communicates the activities of the Department to residents, teams, families and the community.
    Maintains a positive image of the residence through ongoing communication with the community.
    Coordinates the volunteer and student placement program for the residence, including recruiting and orientating volunteers, and directing and evaluating volunteer activities.
    Coordinates and evaluates the pastoral care activities.
    Participates in budget preparation and control and orders and maintains Department supplies. Gathers information on available grants and/or community resources.
    Participates in developing goals and objectives for the Department.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
    Three (3) year diploma from a recognized university or college related to recreation/leisure studies

License/Designation:
    First Aid and CPR certified

Experience:
    Three (3) years experience with recreation/social programs in a senior care environment
    Two (2) years organizational management experience

Knowledge:
    Recreation and leisure programming, techniques and best practices
    Community resources
    Healthcare, memory care and aging challenges
    Leadership best practices and principles
    Legislative regulations and policies related to retirement care
    Changes in mobility of seniors
    Applicable health and safety legislation

Competencies, Skills & Abilities:
    Ability to supervise staff, organize and schedule work functions and motivate a team of professional employees
    Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
    Ability to prepare and administer departmental budgets
    Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of people
    Excellent organizational and time management skills
    Ability to treat residents with respect, dignity and care
    Ability to resolve contentious or sensitive issues or situations
    Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.
    Ability to maintain confidentiality of resident information
    Ability to work in a flexible environment to meet the needs of the residents, including weekend and holiday coverage, as required

Desirable Qualifications:
