Description
We have an immediate opening on our Information Technology and Content Operations team, reporting to the Development Team Lead. You will be responsible for the development, enhancement and maintenance of software programs used for Data Fabrication projects and systems. You will research and respond to inquiries from other departments regarding these systems, including troubleshooting and resolution of issues.
As the Systems Analyst your key roles and responsibilities will include:
• Under supervision code software according to specifications
• Unit test and debug thoroughly
• Resolve assigned trouble tickets
• Coordinate with all members of the project team
• Strictly adhere to the LexisNexis Project Management Methodology and supporting documents
• Work is generally structured as a set of activities or problem situations, assigned and scheduled by others
• Work independently and know when to request assistance, code reviews or design guidance from senior members of the team
• Coordinate own tasks to complete assigned tasks on schedule
Basic Qualifications:
• Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering (Electrical, Software) or Business with Major in Computing
• Experience with online systems, data warehouses, transactional systems, customer facing content management systems
• 3+ years related experience plus other qualifications
What we are looking for in you:
• Able to communicate effectively to convey and clarify information
• Basic understanding of customer requirements and LexisNexis products
• Ability to optimize algorithms, develop and review code, debug and performance tune code and document procedures for document conversion/text processing
• Work well in a cross functional team environment
• Knowledge of mainframe Linux operating system and scripts, RDBMS such as MySQL, MSSQL, or Oracle, Application technologis such as Java, PHP, JavaScript, HTML , XML, XSLT, DTD’s
• Basic knowledge with object oriented methodologies (OOM) and software development life cycle (SDLC)
• Basic knowledge of scripting technologies and techniques
• Basic knowledge of multi-dimensional modeling concept and principles
• Basic understanding of compliance requirements (PCI, SOX, Privacy)
• Familiarity with operating systems, processes and hardware including Mainframe, Linux, Oracle and Windows environment
