Description
We are seeking a passionate and talented lead for the network and server systems.  This person will : use Industry and company knowledge to analyze the user / business requirements and technical solutions to achieve goals and objectives, interface with multi-disciplinary teams to achieve results and contribute to pre-sales support
As the Lead, Network & Server Systems your key roles and responsibilities will include:
• Work with peers to ensure end-to-end functionality of software from project scheduling and design through to implementation
• Participate in developing the project schedule and ensure the project tracks to it through to delivery
• Provide second-tier support to all LN Canada personnel on technology issues
• Consult with internal customers to determine business need
• Proactively prevent and resolve technical issues to avoid escalation
• Knowledge of the  end-to-end functionality of infrastructure components
• Primary contact point for business interests, and responsible for resolution of issues
• Support and ensure timely updates to facilities and tools used through-out LexisNexis Canada, including troubleshooting problems and exercising judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
• Work and collaborate with expert level peers
• Design, and Implement File Servers and Architecture including Active Directory lists for departmental access requirements
• Coordinate with RETS and actions and responsibilities
• Work with Vendors to fulfill software and hardware requests
• Develop and maintain documentation and on-going records for each Network, Server and Telephony  deployed hardware & software
• Assign and verify work of the team in accordance with pre-determined daily tasks
• Report in a timely and accurate manner to management
• Provide technical guidance to team members and communicate requirements, mentor project team members as appropriate
• Take ownership of the quality of the deliverables Contribute and participate in estimation meetings, iteration planning, requirements reviews, design reviews, and performance reviews
• Coach and mentor other personnel to build on product and industry knowledge
• Follow and promote the LexisNexis Project Management Methodology, SDLC and supporting documents
• Exercise independent judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques and evaluation criterion for obtaining results
• Work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors
• Co-ordinate own tasks and those of team members to ensure that service level agreements are met

Qualifications
• Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering (Electrical, Software, Communications) or Business with Major in Computing, or equivalent experience
• Experience with implementing LexisNexis products
• Minimum 7+ years experience

• Highly developed skills at interpreting customer requirements
• Skilled at risk management and issue resolution
• Experience in capacity planning, load balancing,
• In-depth knowledge of Web technologies, protocols and tools with a strong understanding of internet programming
• Experience with structuring, developing and maintaining Web servers and associated operating systems including Linux, Oracle and Windows
• Excellent computer skills: experience with DNS resolution, HTTPS, Domain Controllers, Microsoft® Server, SQLServer, Server Virtualization, Network switching equipment, Wireless networks, Intrusion Detection and Protection (IDS/IPS), URL Filtering, 2nd level support of Windows® applications and Microsoft® Office, and management of extensive tools as used throughout the organization including XML, KEdit, LINUX, ftp, Winscp and Visual Basic
• Experience with Smartphone devices
• Experience with Mac devices (iPad, iMac, MacBook, etc.)
• Familiarity with operating systems, processes and hardware including Mainframe, Linux, Oracle and Windows  environment
• Developed communication skills to effectively convey information; clarify complex information and gain consensus regarding ideas or proposed actions
• More developed team leadership skills to influence and gain co-operation of others
