Primary Focus:
As the second level of supply chain management specialist/supervisor this position is accountable for all aspects of managing the post-award administration of Purchase Orders supporting the Projects.

Responsibilities

Provides strategic leadership by:
Ensuring organizational supply chain management objectives are translated into the team’s activities and ensuring integration with the work of other internal and external stakeholders.

Overseeing a technical team that is responsible for developing and implementing technical solutions for assigned areas, or as a specialist, making recommendations that provide the basis for making critical business decisions.

Maintaining an overall knowledge of service market trends to support the purchase needs of the assigned business unit.

Representing the enterprise on external industry task forces, and developing strong relationships with suppliers, contractors, etc.

Provides generalist leadership to a team of Supply Chain Management professionals who provide a variety of related services to assigned internal client groups for pipeline project planning, development, construction and commissioning activities by:

Providing business and technical direction to the team in the adaptation of the corporate supply chain management standards to business and operational realities within Major Projects, to ensure alignment between philosophies, goals and outcomes, e.g., focus efforts on areas of highest benefit including consolidating and standardizing spend to fully leverage opportunities.

Overseeing and monitoring business processes and solutions relating to SupplyChain Management and compliance, e.g., monitoring purchasing/procurement practices and procedures to ensure compliance with all SOX related controls, providing SOX training to new staff/contractors, monitoring overall spend, protocols and ethics, maintaining qualified vendor lists, budget pricing reporting, logistics, customs requirements, etc.

Evaluating performance of all assigned internal resources, consultants, and contractors as required to ensure the quality, cost effectiveness, and timeliness of work associated with their assigned responsibilities.

Provides operational leadership by:

Coaching/mentoring/motivating staff, contractors and stakeholders in the fulfillment of responsibilities.

Providing escalated issues resolution.

Participating on internal and external technical committees, e.g., industry task forces, partner working groups.

Providing support and assistance to peers and more senior staff in order to facilitate business initiatives and legal compliance, e.g., Engineering Projects, Law, Health and Safety, Operations, etc.

Overseeing continuous improvement of the enterprise’s Supply Chain Management systems and processes within own spheres of influence.

Qualifications:
Applicable Post-Secondary education, e.g., Purchasing/Supply Chain Management, B.Comm, Finance, Business Administration, etc.

SCMP accreditation and/or ten or more years of related experience and associated course work.

Aptitude and communications skills related to leading and acting independently as a supervisory supply chain management professional.

Proven interpersonal, communication, negotiation and leadership skills.

Demonstrated ability to be innovative, initiate and manage change.
