Prairie Malt Limited has an immediate opening for a qualified Industrial Mechanic / Journeyman Millwright at our malt processing plant in Biggar, SK, one hour west of Saskatoon, SK. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you are an integral member of the plant maintenance team responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing mechanical equipment in a safe and cost effective manner and participate fully in the plant safety program.
This hourly position pays Journeymen $36.93/hr as per our new Collective Agreement and includes comprehensive Benefits including company pension plan, an annual bonus (incentive plan), paid lunch-breaks and standard dayshift work schedules consisting of 4×10-hr dayshift weekdays, with minimal mandatory overtime and off-hour (paid) call-ins. Relocation allowance may be available.
Principal Accountabilities:
Perform scheduled and reactive corrective maintenance on facility assets, preventive and predictive maintenance and installation of new equipment on facility assets as assigned
Act as emergency responder to perform repairs as required
Participate in meetings, training activities, and in the plant safety program
Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Skills Required:
Possession of Millwright Journeyman ticket
Minimum 2 years experience within an industrial maintenance environment
Basic knowledge of industrial safety, food safety and environmental regulations
Strong problem solving skills, good written and verbal communication skills
Strong work ethic and a desire to be part of a high-performing team
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada on a non-temporary basis
Ideal Skills :
Experience in the malt or grain processing industry or related industries
Knowledge of the Maintenance Reliability process or Preventative Maintenance or Predictive Technologies
Welding skills, factory experience, and/or food-plant experience
