Cargill Value Added Meats – Food Service operates a chicken processing plant in London, ON, a hatchery in Jarvis, ON, and ground beef processing facilities in Brampton, ON, and Spruce Grove, AB employing approximately 1200 employees.
Reporting to the Purchasing and Inventory Supervisor in the Maintenance and Reliability department, the Inventory and Warehouse Administrator is responsible for shipping, receiving, and purchasing of parts and supplies for the Maintenance and Reliability Team. This individual is also responsible for inventory control, data entry, checking back orders, cycle counts, creating new part numbers and various other administrative duties.
Principal Accountabilities:
50% Inventory Control – Data entry, perform cycle counts and analyze value of cycle count weekly, assembling job totes, checking back orders. Check critical parts which are not available and placing daily orders
25% Shipping/Receiving – Ship inventory as required and send with prepared documents. Receive new inventory, check against purchase orders and put in stock.
15% Purchasing – Get quotations for spare parts and maintenance jobs – support other departments with quotations and purchasing items. Run the automatic re-order system.
10 % Administrative/other various duties – Prepare and process purchase orders and documents in accordance with company policies and procedures – Run reports as required – issue purchase orders to pay contractor invoices
Skills:
Required:
Over 2 years of experience in shipping/receiving
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds on a regular basis
Strong computer skills (Excel, Access, Word) including multi-media set up and troubleshooting
Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Highly organized with attention to details
Ability to climb/carry heavy objects up stairs
Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada on a non-temporary basis
Preferred:
Related post-secondary education or professional training
