Job Description:
We currently have an opening for a Banking Clerk (15 Month Term) within the National Accounting Services group of our Shared Services department, located at our office in Stellarton, Nova Scotia. Your main responsibility in this position will be completing bank reconciliations.

Specific responsibilities may include:
Prepare bank reconciliations for various franchise bank accounts in a timely and accurate manner including current bank accounts, lottery accounts and Western Union accounts
Follow up on and resolve all un-reconciled amounts while they are current
Interact with retail accounting staff and store staff, as required, to ensure all banking issues are resolved quickly
Provide copies of approved bank reconciliations to retail accountants
Clear bank account transactions in SAP on a weekly basis
Maintain control schedules of bank accounts by banner
Communicate all deposit differences to front end specialists & loss prevention as per department guidelines
Complete special projects and other duties, as assigned

Job Requirements
Required:
Related Community College Diploma / University Degree, or equivalent work experience
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Customer focused and committed to meeting and exceeding service levels
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written & oral)
Proven time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills
Strong attention to detail
Aptitude for understanding new technologies
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred:
Background in Accounting (education and/or experience)
Experience working within SAP
1-2 years related work experience
Bilingualism (English and French)
