JOB OVERVIEW
An experienced Completions technical professional is required to work in Suncor’s North American Business Unit. The job is located in Calgary but the area of responsibility will include the Cardium formation in Alberta as well as the Montney formation in NE BC.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Support Suncor’s Health Safety and Environmental protection program
Design and oversee the completions on HZ wells in both the Cardium (oil production) and Montney (gas production) formations
Communicate objectives and deliverable of the completion program to the Business Unit team members as well as field staff
Support the Suncor well delivery model which has been recently implemented in the Exploration and Production division
Provide input on peer reviews for the other operating areas of Suncor including Offshore North Atlantic ,and Libya
Provide input on Suncor’s North America Onshore(NAO) wellbore completions programs from initial concept through to commissioning and startup
Participate in the development and implementation of leading edge completions techniques for Hz wells
Communicate regularly with the cross discipline members of the NAO Team on progression, lessons learned cost and efficiency improvements as well as investigation on operational setbacks
Mentor junior staff
Participate in cross company technical forums on drilling and completion technology

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

Engineering degree is preferred as well as registration as a Professional Engineer
5 or more years of experience as a completions engineer or technologist
Experience with fracture stimulations in Hz wells is preferred
Field supervisory experience is an asset
Experience with shale stimulations is desirable but not a requirement

Skills and Knowledge:
Demonstrated creativity and initiative in executing safe and successful completion programs
Strong organization skills and the ability to contribute positively within a team environment
Clear and concise communication skills, especially when relaying complex technical information
Strong computer skills, WellView and Microsoft applications is an asset
Current knowledge of regulations pertaining to completions practices
