JOB OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for supervising safe and efficient execution of maintenance activities in the Upgrading area. The Supervisor will direct, lead and motivate a diverse execution team to maintain assets while working closely with the Maintenance Coordinator to ensure each outage and break-in work has sufficient resources available to it.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Supervise and lead a maintenance execution team while meeting and/or exceeding targets
Liaison with Operations Coordinator to create and distribute the daily schedule based on the weekly schedule and Cross Functional Team approved break-in and scope of work
Understand the work flow process in order to assist Planning with job package development and to better coordinate with the trades, contractors and services
Set a quality standards of workmanship and ensure inspection is present when required
Working with Operations to ensure a safe, secured, isolated and protected work area for maintenance work
Conduct regular workplace observations and FLRA audits to ensure work is performed safely and according to plan, schedule and procedure
Assess performance of front line leaders and crews while taking corrective and disciplinary actions where required
Provide adequate controls for approval and stewardship of work risk and costs
Promote a zero incident attitude by ensuring start of shift safety meetings are performed, unsafe conditions and/or actions are remedied and conduct safety investigations when necessary

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:
Journeyperson ticket with 5-10 years of related maintenance experience in an oil and gas industry
Experience coordinating groups of multidiscipline contracted personnel and physical resources in an oil and gas industry

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of maintenance strategies and methodologies
  • Knowledge of mechanical and associated equipment is an asset
  • Knowledge of applicable OH&S rules, regulations and guidelines
  • Knowledge of planning and scheduling processes
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance requirements
  • Continuous Improvement processes
  • Ability to lead with courage, integrity and respect
  • Computer proficiency specifically in MS Office and SAP
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Self-starter with ability to work in team environment
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Relocation to Fort McMurray is required
