We are seeking a highly motivated, confident individual to join our teamas a Lead Communication & Pursuits Strategist (CaPS). As aCaPS, you provide strategic and tactical support to help win new business. You actively participate in developing pursuit strategies and overseeing the proposal management process. You author client communications such as proposals, campaigns, oral presentations, qualifications, and other documents. You work with Business Development Executives and client service professionals. The Lead CaPS is highly independent and has the ability to manage requests and assignments for the geographic area.
Responsibilities for the successful candidate will include:*Leads team in development of strategic and tactical proposals and campaigns that convey a unique proposal strategy for the client
*
Researches, writes and edits standard and customized proposals and other documents
*Takes a proactive role in driving the pursuit process, including coordinating the flow of information from contributors to meet all deadlines and following through on action items to achieve a coordinated team effort
*Manages multiple proposals simultaneously and prioritizes work
*Serves as liaison between pursuit teams, Creative Services and other support functions for workflow
*Ensures compliance with firm’s independence policy and quality measures; ensures compliance with language restrictions and adherence to branding standards
*Builds and leverages relationships with industry/practice leaders, and identifies opportunities to build strategic alliances to achieve business goals
*Assists Business Development Executives in identifying opportunities through market research, business plan review and client meetings
*Provides direction and mentoring to junior team members
*Shares leading pursuit and proposal process practices with pursuit teams throughout Canada and across the Americas
To qualify, candidates must have:
*Graduate degree required (major in writing, communications, marketing or business)
*Minimum 7-10 years relevant experience preferred
*Possess a high level of business acumen and knowledge
*Very strong written and verbal communication as well as facilitation skills
*Creative, detail-oriented with demonstrated project management skills
*Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization
*Ability to meet tight deadlines and coordinate multiple projects at one time
*Ability to work independently and potentially manage other team members or supporting team members
*Highly-developed computer skills, including Microsoft suite and the Internet
*Ability to occasionally travel and work remotely with teams outside of the Calgary market
