The challenge will be to perform routine duties related to the cleaning, re-fuelling and storage of Transit buses.

Main responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be self- motivated, organized, safety conscious and able to work without direct supervision. Other requirements include good record keeping skills, the ability to interact effectively and harmoniously with co-workers, supervisors and the public, both orally and in writing.

Qualifications:
Through on-site training, the successful candidate must have the ability to learn to safely operate transit buses, perform timely preventive maintenance on buses and other equipment as required and to provide assurances that the equipment will be available for the next shift. (On-going training will be provided) A valid class 3 driver’s license with an air brake endorsement (Q) is required within 30 days of employment. We will provide some training to the successful candidate. A high school diploma as well as some computer experience would be considered assets.

This position is night shift (6:00pm to 2:00am) based on a 40 hour work week, Wednesday to Sunday. Safety footwear is required. Applicants selected for interview may be tested in some of the above qualifications and may be requested to bring a current Driver’s Abstract to the interview.

Please Note: Smoking restrictions are in effect.

The classification indicates a pay rate and normal assignment, with other duties assigned as required, and a rate of pay is $28.44 as per the current C.U.P.E. collective agreement.
