We are seeking for our Farm in Southeast New Brunswick an experienced and entrepreneurial FARM MANAGER    Job summary: The Farm Manager will directly manage all farming operations (5000 acres of sustainable forest and several hundred acres of open farmland) and two industrial operations (PVC regrind and pallet manufacturing), develop and implement plans for further enhancements and be responsible for the P&L of the operations.  Responsibilities include:

    Manages and supervises, with hands-on involvement, all farming activities, including land prep, planting, fertilization, pruning, and harvesting.
    Manages PVC regrind and pallet manufacturing operations on the farm site
    Identifies, sources, and hires labor; develops and manages teams; ensures proper training; manages performance.
    Learns and implements the latest and best current production practices, as well as from university, other outside industry resources and internal resources; develop and advance knowledge and innovations that deliver competitive advantage.
    Develops and manages operating budgets; assess the capital budget needs; manage costs; and deliver expected profitability
    Responsible for submission of production data and any required crop information.
    Ensures compliance with all labor laws, company policy and workers safety
    Maintains a well organized, clean and safe work environment
    Lives on the farm in the farmhouse and is responsible for maintaining and fostering of the farm house, gardens, park and other grounds
    Supports the owner family during their occasional visits (catering, housekeeping etc.)

Qualifications:
    Forestry degree, ideally combined with an additional agricultural degree and business training
    Several years of experience in managing farm and/or forestry operations

Skills:
    Demonstrated strength in operational administration
    Understanding of agricultural financial measurements, strong business acumen
    Self-starter; ability to work independently as well as with team members and management
    Detail oriented, with effective verbal, writing and presentation skills.
    Ability to develop and manage personnel
    Ability to operate farm equipment
    Engage in hands on pruning and harvest activities
