Role Summary/Purpose:
The Tax Manager will be responsible for providing quality income tax compliance services (Canadian and U.S. tax) to assigned portfolio of GE Canada and GE Capital in Canada businesses.
Essential Responsibilities:
Generating measurable tax savings and process improvements.
Identification and resolution of tax “controllership” issues affecting assigned portfolio.
Initiate and develop extensive interactions with business financial and operating personnel and develop detailed knowledge of GE financial systems and data flows.
Effectively respond to internal and external audit requests (Canadian and US).
Participate in tax planning (including M&A, internal reorganizations, LE simplification and tax advice activities).
Qualifications/Requirements:
University Degree in Commerce or Business
Professional Accreditation (CGA, CA, CPA)
Complete CICA In-Depth Tax Course
Minimum 10 years corporate tax experience (both public practice and industry)
Excellent interpersonal communication skills
Exposure to cross border tax issues and/or U.S. tax
Demonstrated ability to maintain high level of expertise and productivity in challenging, high workload environment
