Deadline:28/09/2013 · Prairie Malt Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Cargill Limited, has immediate openings for a qualified Journeyman Electrician at our malt processing plant in Biggar, SK. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this Journeymen position is an integral member of the plant maintenance Team responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing mechanical equipment in a safe and cost effective manner and participating fully in the plant Safety Program.

This hourly position pays $36.93/hr as per our Collective Agreement and include comprehensive Benefits including company pension plan, annual bonus (incentive plan), paid lunch-breaks and standard dayshift work schedules consisting of 4×10-hr dayshift weekdays with occasional overtime and off-hour paid call-ins. Relocation allowance available where applicable.

Principal Accountabilities:
Perform scheduled and reactive corrective maintenance on plant assets
Perform scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance and installation of new equipment on facility assets as assigned
Act as emergency responder to perform repairs as required
Participate in meetings and training activities
Participate in the plant safety program
Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Skills:
Required:
Possession of relevant valid Interprovincial Journeyman Ticket (Red Seal)
Minimum 2 years experience within an industrial maintenance environment
Basic knowledge of industrial safety, food safety and environmental regulations
Strong problem solving skills, good written and verbal communication skills
Strong work ethic and a desire to be part of a high-performing team

Preferred:   Experience in grain and/or processing plant and/or factory environments
PLC and/or process control expertise a plus
Knowledge of the Maintenance Reliability methodology and processes
