Salary(s):   SP4 $51,765.00 – $71,794.00 per year
An eligibility list may be created for similar positions and will remain in effect for 6 months.
A satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check are conditions of employment.

Conditions of Employment:
 A satisfactory Adult Abuse Registry Check is also required. A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel within the Region. The incumbent must be available to work evenings, weekends and statutory holidays on occasion.

Qualifications:
Essential:
    Post Secondary degree in Social Sciences (preferably BSW).
    Case Management experience working with individuals and families (including assessment, determination of need, service planning, service delivery, monitoring and evaluation) in a social service setting. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered at an underfill or commensurate classification and salary level.
    Demonstrated experience in counselling with the ability to assess risk and intervene in crisis situations.
    Demonstrated ability to work with vulnerable persons.
    Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills with the ability to establish working relationships with both individuals and groups.
    Demonstrated ability to manage a diverse caseload.
    Demonstrated effective verbal communication skills.
    Demonstrated effective written communication skills.
    Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and organize tasks.

Desired:
    Demonstrated ability to work as a multi-disciplinary team.
    Computer experience in a Windows environment (MS Office, Outlook).
    Knowledge of program standards, provincial legislation, regulations, policy and regional service priorities.

Condition of Employment:  must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Duties:
Reporting to the Program Manager, this position is a regional service specialist responsible for assessing, planning, delivering and evaluating the needs of recipients receiving multiple services from the Department. The incumbent is involved in delivering a wide range of social services to Manitobans who are eligible for Employment and Income Assistance, Child and Family Services, Community Living disAbility Services, Children’s disAbility Services and marketAbilities Services.
