Reporting to: Area Superintendent
Description
Reporting to the Area superintendent and if applicable the Complex Manager, the General Foreman plays a critical role in the production needs of JBS Food Canada Inc.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Statistical reporting and training database management:
Prepare weekly and quarterly statistical reports and analyses for management/Superintendents
Provide assistance to all production staff
Conduct periodic reviews of team members to ensure compliance to company protocols and designs
Ensure non-conformances or deficiencies with team members or practices are reviewed and appropriate corrective actions taken to prevent recurrence
Ensure that all production performance in specific area is performed in accordance with environmental, health and safety guidelines and legislated requirements
Ensure that own actions and those of the work team ensure compliance with JBS Food Canada Inc. and contract specific quality assurance and safety programs at the same time promoting a healthy team member environment
Recommend new solutions or concepts to all parts of the business to promote productivity
Assist new employees
Act as the liaison between team members, Superintendents and any other applicable department (i.e. training department and our training program provider)
Project plan and business requirements analysis for updates or changes
Research:
Research on issues of relevance to training in Meat Industry;
Develop and maintain information resources for production staff;
Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Contributes to the on-going development of JBS Food Canada Inc. policies and procedures;
Key Qualifications, Abilities, and Skills
Well versed in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel, is required;
The ability to communicate effectively and professionally with team members and management in a clear, concise, complete, and logical manner on sometimes complex matters;
Excellent planning, organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to identify tasks and resources required to complete tasks, and the ability to complete tasks within pre-determined timelines;
Teamwork – ability to work effectively with colleagues and management;
Strong supervisory or Management skills in dealing with a wide spectrum of individuals, from production through management, efficiently and effectively
Fluency in English
Post secondary education would be considered an asset but is not essential
