As Development Assistant, Planned Giving you have demonstrated the ability to work effectively with a diverse group of people and handle them and proprietary information with sensitivity, confidentiality and diplomacy. You will use these necessary skills as you assist in the development of our annual gift planning event and other donor stewardship events.
Your 2-5 years of experience working with organization and relational data bases (i.e. Raiser’s Edge) will assist you in providing excellent administrative assistance to the Senior Manager, Gift Planning, and with the Pet Survivor Care Program. You have high standards in your written, communication, and data entry skills, as well as your professional demeanour and presentation.
You are highly motivated and organized with a strong attention to detail. You may even consider yourself a perfectionist. You are an energetic team player that also has the ability to work independently and get the job done.

Required skills, knowledge and abilities:
Post-secondary education or equivalent experience
Experience with relational data bases mandatory (e.g. Raiser’s Edge)
Very detail oriented
Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines within a high volume department
Excellent administrative and organizational skills
Advanced Word processing, data entry and Microsoft Excel skills
Ability to interact and communicate in an effective manner to people of different age groups and backgrounds
Keenness and willingness to learn
Demonstrated initiative
Experience working in a fast-paced environment
Professional demeanor and presentation
Can exercise discretion and maintain confidential records
High standards in written and communication skills
A demonstrated ability to be creative and flexible
Legal / financial background an asset
