Reporting to the Plant Manager this position is responsible for monitoring and assesses the efficiencies within our Richardson Milling operation, ensuring that all processes and mill services continuously improve to produce results aligned with customer and organizational needs and expectations.
Based in Portage La Prairie, MB the Head Miller will manage the financial performance of the milling equipment and efficiencies therein, including assisting with identifying, managing and prioritizing the capital projects portfolio. This individual will also oversee the milling personnel, functions, systems, scheduling, procedures and planning.
The successful candidate should possess a degree in Technical Milling, Engineering and/or equivalent experience. The incumbent must have a minimum of five (5) year’s experience in managing a mill and/or maintenance department and/or similar operation in a unionized and/or non-unionized environment.
The Head Miller must have good analytical, mechanical and problem solving skills.
Must possess strong leadership skills, organizational and good presentation skills and be computer competent in Microsoft office.
Must be able to coach, lead, and develop staff in order to achieve desired organizational results.
The Head Miller will maintain effective working relationships with vendor/suppliers and demonstrate excellent oral, written and listening communication skills. Oat milling experience is considered an asset.
