Description:
Primary Focus:
This Major Projects position is responsible for the successful engineering design of assigned projects within the Facilities Engineering group for Athabasca Projects. This includes involvement and input during all stages of projects from FEED development, through detailed design, procurement, construction and turn-over to operations. The Project Lead Engineer will work with design consultants to ensure that appropriate input from all of the stakeholder groups is considered during the various project and design reviews.
Responsibilities:
Accountable for project design being completed within financial and schedule constraints, as well as being in compliance with regulatory, environmental, health and safety requirements.
Accountable for the quality, cost, scope and schedules of all work performed by engineering consultants during detailed design.
Accountable to ensure compliance with project procedures, design standards (including providing recommendations for improvements), regulatory requirements and leads coordination of project regulatory and right of way permitting applications.
Responsible for ensuring that, throughout the execution process, a high level of communications is maintained with internal Enbridge groups, external stakeholders and engineering design consultants.
Responsible for providing monthly project management reporting on all assigned projects, and compliance with Enbridge Project Management procedures and processes.
Supports construction and commissioning execution activities.
Assist with development opportunities of other engineers within the group.
Responsible for working effectively within the Athabasca Projects team structure.
Qualifications:
A Professional Engineering with a minimum of 7+ years of progressively responsible experience that includes a minimum of 2 years project experience including leadership experience involving a number of internal and external stakeholders.
Good leadership, project management, conflict resolution and interpersonal skills.
Ability to excel in a collaborative team environment, while providing service to clients.
Pipeline detailed design and/or project execution experience in pipeline terminals, pipeline stations, and pipelines would be an asset.
Demonstrated project management, problem solving, conflict resolution, decision-making, organization, planning and leadership skills would also be an asset.
Strong time management skills and an ability to meet deadlines.
A self-starter with the ability to work independently.
Ability to travel and work throughout North America.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Valid driver’s license.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
