Job Description:
The Business Development team has a challenging opportunity for a highly motivated Technologist. This position will contribute to the growth of Encana through the evaluation and coordination of corporate acquisitions, divestitures and joint ventures. The successful candidate will play a key role as a member of the Business Development team – whose responsibility is to support the divisions for asset acquisitions, and support and lead divestiture and joint venture initiatives. This is a great opportunity offering a variety of technical and geographic challenges, as well as a unique exposure to the financial side of the business.

Responsibilities:

• compilation and analysis of production, reserves, capital and operating cost data
• collaborate with Engineering/GG staff to construct development plans for potential asset acquisitions/divestitures
• economic evaluation of existing production and proposed development
• manage data flow processes to ensure integrity of divestiture candidate descriptions
• research and respond to data queries from potential purchasers
• support negotiators in their development strategy
• record and report transactions statistics for internal requirements
• analysis and presentation of evaluation results
• management of project workspaces/documents
• assist teams with preparation and execution of PAR documents (project approval requests)

Qualifications:

• must be legally entitled to work in Canada
• technical diploma and a minimum of 5 years related industry experience
• strong background in resource play/Canadian property evaluations
• proficiency in the use of a variety of software packages ie. Accumap, Mosaic, Excel, Merak Peep, PowerPoint, Value Navigator, and Word
• strong documentation and meeting management skills would be an asset
• innovative/creative, self-sufficient, motivated, with a strong desire to learn and work in a multi-disciplinary team strong commitment to teamwork, continuous improvement, and meeting deadlines
