Description:
Primary Focus:
Responsible for identifying and evaluating emerging energy technologies, their impact on corporate strategies and their potential for investment. Also responsible for identifying, hiring, supervising and evaluating external technology consultants and advisors.
Responsibilities:
Prepares detailed evaluations of the credibility and potential impact of a broad range of emerging renewable energy and energy infrastructure technologies.
Evaluates potential investment opportunities and the viability of product development business plans.
Prepares management presentations and recommendation memoranda.
Relies on industry knowledge and personal contact network to be fully abreast of emerging technologies and to secure appropriate advice from within Research Institutes, Universities, Government Agencies and private consultancies.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 15 years of broad based energy technology leadership experience in a university, research institute or industry position.
A Phd in Engineering or Physical Sciences
Strong communications skills with the ability to simplify often complex concepts and processes.
An independent thinker with creativity, vision on a broad ranging interests.
Excellent analytical and business planning skills. An ability to function effectively in a team environment.
