JOB TITLE: Human Resources Assistant

STATUS: Full-time 6-month Secondment
SALARY GRADE: Grade 4 ($37,040 - $55,560 per annum)
DEADLINE: August 7, 2013 @ 5:00pm
Position Summary:
Assist in maintaining good public relations with patrons and maintain an open door policy with all employees. Comply with safety and security standards of the corporation while orientating staff to operations and complying with pre-determined internal control procedures. Is responsible for the answering of general human resource inquires and directing visitors and employees to appropriate personnel.
Major Responsibility Areas:
Receive, verify and prepare confirmation of employee letters. Provide administrative support assisting with the recruitment process as required and other general office clerical duties.
Managing the flow of resumes as outlined by departmental guidelines.
Provide current information regarding benefits, policies and procedures, recruitment, training and communications. Listen to concerns and questions from employees and assist in referring employees to the appropriate staff, department or outside organization.
Assist employees in completing all Human Resource forms.
Assist in carrying out of all employee orientation, training programs and employee relations programs.
Providing assistance with the completion/request of Human Resource forms, coding and data entry of resumes, and providing clerical assistance as required.
Promote and maintain the utmost integrity and the highest calibre of customer service and respect to all patrons, employees and OLG personnel.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Comply with safety procedures including use of required safety equipment and identify unsafe practices or conditions.
Maintain general awareness of gaming operation at all times and comply with security policies and procedures in order to secure company assets.
Minimum Qualifications:
Grade 12 diploma with Post secondary education preferred or comparable working experience in Human Resources.
Experience of one (1) or more years in all aspects of Human Resources.
Requires good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
Working knowledge of computer software packages and HRIS.
Have the expertise and skill set to perform data entry.
Licenses, Certifications and/or Registration:
Requires Registration as a Category 2 Gaming Assistant through the AGCO.
Working towards or having a Human Resources Professional Certification (CHRP) would also be an asset.
