We are looking to hire an HR Representative to fulfill a 14 month maternity leave contract. This individual will be responsible for providing support to our offices in Vancouver, Calgary and Winnipeg. You will support managers and employees with policy interpretation, Human Relations issues and performance management ensuring regulation and legislation compliance are maintained. Some travel will be required.
Responsibilities:
Compile, maintain and process information related to recruitment, training, performance evaluations, payroll, transfer/promotion/change of employee information.
Gather attendance records on a monthly basis and process accordingly.
Advise managers and employees on the interpretation of human resources policies, benefit programs, pension, payroll queries, and other related HR programs.
Support and coach managers on the performance management process.
Act as a Group Benefits Administrator for Western provinces.
Manage return to work, disability and worker’s compensation claims.
Assist with payroll input, benefit and claims management/processing.
Assist managers in interviewing process including screening, recruiting, and reference checks
Review incoming resumes, sort and file in the company’s Applicant Tracking System.
Ensure job requisitions are submitted and approved as per corporate guidelines; post approved jobs internally and externally.
Support training and development efforts in close cooperation with the Area Learning & Development Manager.
Maintain updated organizational charts for Western branches
Conduct orientation of Branch employees; put together employment kits and ensure prompt return for payroll submission.
Representative for the local social committee, help organize events, etc., if required.
Administer HR Programs (i.e. Service Award and Birthday Program)
Provide HR and managers with support and assistance with special projects and reports.
Qualifications:
Post secondary certification in Human Resources
3-5 years of human resources and payroll experience
Good working knowledge of provincial and federal legislation pertaining to all aspects of Human Resources. Knowledge and/or experience working with legislation in other provinces, an asset.
Strong Microsoft Office skills
