Essential Qualifications
Post-secondary education in Business Administration or Financial Management or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Demonstrated experience in financial management including: working with cash flow projections and estimates, budget planning and forecasting, and invoice processing and payment.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze and interpret financial data and prepare financial reports.
Strong written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills demonstrated by the ability to facilitate working relationships and interact effectively with team members, Managers, and other staff using tact and diplomacy.
Experience working with the financial modules of SAP.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong oral communication skills that enable effective and appropriate communications with a broad range of people at all levels.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, ability to prioritize work and to work under pressure with time sensitive deadlines.
Desired Qualifications
Experience supervising staff, with the ability to coach and mentor, establish work priorities, schedules, and allocate work assignments to ensure continuity of work.
Knowledge in interpreting government administrative and financial processes and procedures.
Demonstrated experience with office coordination including: office space requests, building related policy, parking, equipment and supply requisition, internal form preparation, etc.
Duties:
Reporting to the Director, Livestock Knowledge Centre, the Administrative Officer is solely responsible for the administrative and financial operation of the Livestock Knowledge Centre. The employee is responsible for overall administration and coordination of the budgets and developing and maintaining reporting procedures to be used by Management.
Position responsibilities will include: providing and maintaining monthly financial reports to be used for cash flow projections; analyzing cash flow and commitment projections; preparing annual estimate and budget documentation; processing and authorizing financial documentation; reviewing and endorsing for payment of all operating expenditures; overseeing the management and analysis of revenue streams; managing and collecting on outstanding accounts; and coordination of building-related issues.
