Career Opportunity: Manager, Supply Chain – Strategic Sourcing
We have an exciting new opportunity for a Manager, Supply Chain, Strategic Sourcing, based out of Calgary reporting to the Director, Supply Chain.
Working closely with the Strategic Sourcing Director and key business stakeholders, this role will develop the Strategic Supply Chain direction, using their strong ability to influence change along with their acumen in category management, strategy, business and supplier relationship management.
Through your leadership, experience, innovation and drive, you will ensure value added and practical Supply Chain category strategies are developed and implemented that enable Shaw’s success going forward.
Accountabilities:
• Reports to Director Supply Chain with strong matrix into Business Operation Leader
• Develop and implement comprehensive, x-functional, supply chain category strategies that drive Exceptional Customer Experience, improve profitability and operational efficiencies.
• Deliver bottom line cost improvement year over year, improved supplier performance and support supplier driven technology development.
• Identify, develop, and manage strategic business relationships both internally and externally.
• Negotiate and manage supplier agreements. Encourage compliance by both supplier and internal users.
• Lead the development, strategy, and successful completion of complex negotiations.
• Being a leader, motivator and role model for Shaw’s Vision and Values.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Experience building highly motivated teams.
• Strong experience in both contractual and financial negotiation.
• Provable history of successfully designed and implemented Supply Chain strategies.
• Strong technical acumen, ideally in telecommunications or at minimum organizations with strong Supply Chain fundamentals.
• Building new or transforming Supply Chain Organizations from strategic design through to implementation and sustainment.
• Positive, “can-do” attitude and customer focused approach that will enable you to deal with challenging situations with integrity, empathy and passion.
• Clear business understanding of objectives, deliverables and results, with the ability to communicate expectations and outcomes across all levels in the organization.
• Experience within larger organizations with a proven track record of influencing authority at all levels.
• Innovation and creativity with a drive to be the “best in class”.
• Superior Communication skills, presentation and analytical skills
