We have an exciting opportunity for a Supervisor, Planning working in our Victoria location. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and motivating a team of 15 – 20 people. Be instrumental in creating an environment where new ideas are created, new possibilities are realized and exceptional service is a part of every day.

Accountabilities:
• Provide continual training and coaching to the Planning team
• Ensure engineering, construction, and technical standards and procedures are met in regard to the planning and design of Shaw’s fibre and coaxial cable networks
• Coordinate project construction with both internal and external work forces
• Assist in the development and implementation of capital and expense budgets for the region and department
• Produce accurate records and reports, and maintain a detailed database
• Conduct recruitment and selection for the planning team as needed
• Promote a positive image of Shaw, our products and services
• Various other duties as needed

Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Degree/Diploma in a technical related field complemented by 5 years related work experience
• Strong working knowledge of Windows 95/98, CADD, Microstation and quality manual drafting skills
• Understand processes required in undertaking civil construction
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team
• Team player with strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
• Motivated with the ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Maintain a valid driver’s license and must provide a driver’s abstract annually
• A positive, “can-do” attitude and customer focused approach that will enable you to deal with challenging situations with integrity, empathy and sincerity
