Applications are now being accepted for the full-time, permanent position of Market Manager, Small-Medium Business (SMB) located in Whitehorse, YT.

The Market Manager SMB is responsible for driving the development and implementation of market strategies for the SMB segment, defined as Northern-based companies with 50 or less employees to meet or exceed budgeted business growth. The incumbent must possess strong customer orientation along with the ability to internalize evolving market and technology trends, and to translate the practical knowledge into actionable products & solutions, marketing and channel strategies.

Duties:
· Lead and drive the development of holistic market strategies and roadmap that support the strategic vision and direction of the Company.

· Develop and refresh the market strategy plan that will be used to guide the development of tactical plans by functional groups such as Product Management, Information Technology Management, Sales, Customer Care and Field Operations.

· Perform deep dive analysis on specific market segment to establish and update profiles that include economic profile, technology needs, and purchasing behavior or process.

· Work collaboratively with functional groups to develop new and innovative concepts on product & solutions, marketing, customer communication and sales.

· Identify and review industry best practices for solution development and marketing.

· Develop and assess solution partnerships to support the growth of a robust and innovative Next Generation (NextGen) product portfolio.

· Champion the development reporting requirements to track tangible business results.

· Support the Executive Team to address strategic business opportunities that will help sustaining Northwestel’s ICT leadership in Canada North.

· Support the preparation of budgeting plans.

Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in commerce, marketing or a related field. MBA degree is desired.

· 5 years of marketing experience (preferably in a SMB market setting).

· Relevant industry experience in the Information & Communication Technology (ICT) field is a plus.

· Proven experience in developing actionable market plain in one or more of the following segments: Consumer, Small-Medium Business (SMB), Enterprise and/or Public Sector.

· Working experience in the context of Canada North or the Aboriginal culture is highly desirable and having a solid understanding of the small business community issues.
