Feedlot Health Management Services Ltd. (FHMS) is looking to hire a Technical Assistant to join the Individual Animal Management (IAM)/Performance Enhancement Product Protocols (PEPP) team. FHMS provides comprehensive animal health, feedlot production, feeds and feeding, and individual animal management consulting services to commercial feedlots throughout Canada and the USA. In addition, FHMS provides its feedlot clients with a proprietary individual animal data collection system and maintains an active applied feedlot research & development program. The FHMS Veterinary and Production Consultant Team is currently comprised of 16 professionals with advanced training/recognized expertise in feedlot animal health and welfare, animal production, epidemiology, meat science, nutrition, pathology, applied research, statistical analysis, and economic modeling. The professional consultants work together with a 25-30 member support team to provide value-based services to FHMS client feedlots. Advantagesto the Position

    Opportunity to implement data extraction, data collection, data collation, summarization, verification, analysis and interpretation proficiency.

Capabilities for success:   
The skills, knowledge and experience that will prepare you to excel within this position and future success with FHMS include;

  •  Master’s Degree in Bioinformatics, Ag Economics, Animal Science, and/or Epidemiology or a related University level degree
  •     Previous experience working with data including; verification, summarization and analysis
  •     Coordination and problem solving skills
  •     Enjoy the challenge of utilizing a computer to organize data fully embracing perfectionism to create valid data-bases, standard operating procedures, client reports, and other tools that can be utilized within the FHMS consulting model
  •     Excellent computer skills and exceptional proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel. Knowledge and experience using Access would be an asset but not required.
  •     Ability to work individually and in a team environment
  •     Basic understanding of feedlot production
