This individual works with Senior Executives in the firm to proactively build EY’s profile in the Canadian business community. This individual identifies, develops and produces highly visible external publications and communications designed to showcase the firm’s expertise, enhance its reputation, and ultimately win business. Thought leadership content will take many forms including; by-line articles, white papers, published points-of-view, brochures, on-line content, research surveys with name-brand recognition; and business books published externally. This individual will be part of the Public Relations team and will be responsible for increasing brand awareness for key industries and service lines.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop strategic plans, in conjunction with firm leadership, that are results-oriented and measurable for key industries and service lines.
2. Develop a calendar of differentiated, frequent and relevant content for the external marketplace.
3. Identify and leverage opportunities with high-quality, third-party organizations that Ernst & Young can partner with for the purposes of publishing thought leadership content.
4. Identify and project-manage the thought leadership component of conference sponsorships with third-party organizations to ensure Ernst & Young’s point of view on key business topics are taken to market.
5. Manage monthly thought leadership submissions (global and Canadian-specific) to third-party organizations.
6. Write and coordinate by-lined articles to be submitted to external organizations.
7. Manage all aspects of successful thought leadership portals and channels sponsored by EY
8.Work closely with the PR team to drive thought leadership through media relations.
9. Results tracking and analysis
10. Strategic recommendations based on different factors, i.e. budget or timing considerations
10. Data analysis skills, i.e., turning survey results into interesting thought leadership pieces
To qualify, candidates must have:
*University or college degree in Marketing or Communications
*Minimum of 5 years of experience in communications, public relations, and/or business development
*Strong writing skills
*Ability to take complex issues and variables to create executable marketing strategies and plans that will resonate with the firm’s target audiences, i.e., clients, potential clients, media
*Excellent project management skills
*Excellent relationship-building skills. This individual will need to be able to quickly earn the trust/respect of our client serving ‘experts’ and firm leadership
*Research skills
*Ability to integrate across other Marketing team functions, including brand management, public relations, internal communications, on-line, events and sponsorships
*Ability to work with a virtual team and report to remote, off-site managers
