Position Objective and Scope:
Build client/customer loyalty by adding value and providing sound agronomic advice and solutions to meet the needs, resolve issues and maximize productivity for existing customers
Strategically target new customers and build a lasting business relationship with the grower by providing services, support and products from Andrukow Group Solutions that meet their unique needs
Differentiate yourself and the company from the competitors and increase sales, profits and market share in chemical, fertilizer, seed and custom application markets.
Meet or exceed annual targets including but not limited to sales growth, gross profit margins, FPS acres, sales calls completed and share of wallet per customer as set out by the Sales Manager.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Implement customer call program which will require the Solutions Account Manager to be out of the office calling on clients 4 days per week.
- Ensure call results are tracked on AGSI Call Report documents.
- Identify client needs & practices and update product requirements into the client’s Farm Planning Solutions (FPS) file.
- Become fluent with the AGSI Client Segmentation strategy and ensure the level of service provided to each customer reinforces the value levels set out in the AGSI Client Segmentation strategy.
- Become proficient with Compass Nav programing and ensure that pricing for all client’s products and services are accurately inputted.
- Prices will be based off the AGSI Pricing Sheet. If special pricing (pricing not listed on the AGSI Pricing Sheet) is required then it must be approved by the Sales Manager prior to discussions with the client.
- Ensure all clients have sufficient credit limits approved or renewed annually. If clients with credit risks are identified then these clients must have sufficient credit facilities in place through third party credit programs before fertilizer or crop protection products (CPP) are sold.
- All fertilizer orders must be accompanied with a completed Fertilizer Sales Order generated from the Fertilizer Value Calculator within FPS.
- Recommend specific fertilizer and CPP products to customers (AGSI brands or exclusive products and services where possible) by detailing clear benefits to the client and the effective rate of return when our recommendation is used.
- Make clear, specific and timely fertilizer and CPP recommendations and follow up with the client to ensure the client was satisfied with your recommendations.
- Provide accurate & timely crop scouting that provides clear value to the client and that is cost effective for the location. Provide each client with a copy of our Crop Scouting template from FPS as soon as possible after completing the crop scouting.
- Provide accurate and timely soil sampling to client with clear analysis and detailed nutrient recommendations.
- Know and live the “AGSI Brand” or doing things the AGSI Way both internally with other team players and externally with our clients, manufacturers and suppliers at all times.
- Participate in the AGSI Safety Program and ensure Safety is your first priority while working at the location and while operating AGSI vehicles and equipment.
- Ensure all safety and professional certifications are kept current and renewed before peak selling seasons.
- Identify and participate in personal development opportunities that continuously enhance your skill set.
- Understand the importance of playing and communicating as a team player, collectively working together within the location and within AGSI as a whole.
- Remain professional and flexible throughout the year and take whatever steps are needed to fulfill the AGSI Mission Statement, to “make agriculture, our clients and our team players better, stronger and proud of their profession”.
Job Knowledge Requirements (knowledge, skills and qualifications):
- Degree in Agriculture or related discipline with Agri-business experience. .
- Certificates in Transportation of Dangerous Goods, WHMIS, Forklift Operator and Pesticide Dispenser.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s license
- Proven ability to influence, sell and market products and services
- Demonstrate understanding of agricultural industry and agronomic practices
- Accurately anticipate, assess and understand customer needs
- Relate and communicate effectively with all members of the agricultural industry
- Lead by example and motivate others to succeed
- Work independently and contribute to the achievement of team objectives
- Manage time effectively and deliver results accurately, and on time
- Initiate positive change, and do what it takes to succeed
- Project a positive attitude and optimism to both customers and co-workers
- Mechanical background in Agricultural equipment an asset.
- Ability to analyze and make decisions.
- Maintain high level of accountability
