We are hiring auxiliary Security Clearance Specialists to work on call as required to conduct comprehensive security clearance investigations and interviews with individuals that may have involvement/interaction with the Burnaby RCMP Detachment.  Do you have a high degree of discretion, tact and diplomacy? Do you have sound knowledge of RCMP policies and procedures; interviewing and investigational techniques; and the ability to analyse and summarize information in a concise and articulate manner?    These individuals may have access/business with the Burnaby RCMP Detachment or they may be job applicants, current staff, volunteers or Burnaby RCMP contractors.   
Duties would include reviewing security clearance forms for accuracy and completeness including full disclosure; completing background  relativity and reference checks using RCMP databases and information systems; reliability and reference checks; investigate and research suspicious or unclear issues or activities and refer any anomalies to appropriate police jurisdiction for further investigations; prepare correspondence and comprehensive reports summarizing and detailing analysis and findings; provide recommendation on security clearance files for review by the Burnaby RCMP Detachment’s Management and Administrative Services Officer; and respond to internal and external inquiries regarding the status of various security clearance cases.

The ideal candidate will have open availability and have qualifications that include completion of grade 12; completion of a law-enforcement post secondary program; courses and training in related interviewing skills, strong oral and written communications; plus considerable related experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.  This position also requires a Driver’s License for the Province of British Columbia and a valid RCMP Security Clearance.
