Finance Manager, Enterprise Risk

The Role:
As Canada’s largest telecommunication company, Bell Canada faces a spectrum of risks covering strategic, operational, compliance and financial elements. With technological advancement and changing competitive and regulatory landscape, risks impacting Bell Canada continues to change.

An enterprise risk management function helps a company’s board of directors and senior leadership identify and focus on relevant key risk areas impacting an organization. Working with business units and subject matter experts, the enterprise risk manager helps evolve the enterprise risk management program, leveraging and incorporating all key aspects of risk for assessment, mitigation, monitoring and reporting. The enterprise risk manager must possess strong knowledge in many areas from corporate governance, internal controls, risk identification and assessment. This position has many opportunities to interact with all levels of management.

The enterprise risk management function adds value to Bell Canada through:

* Evolving the existing enterprise risk management framework
* Participating in the annual strategic business planning process as required
* Working closely with the Internal Audit function and other relevant risk groups
* Providing risk assessment workshops or meetings to assess risks at the business unit or enterprise level
* Leading risk projects; examples of projects include:
* Critical vendor assessment, fraud risk assessment and fraud reporting, executive compensation review, divestiture of subsidiaries etc

* Performing risk assessments on key vendors and large customer deals
* Providing support and risk advice to business units as required
* Staying relevant on enterprise risk management trends, techniques and industry best practices

Core Competencies:
Reporting to the Director, Risk Advisory Services, the ideal candidate has:

* Five to ten years of progressive experience in risk management or other relevant finance function
* Demonstrated ability to lead and execute projects
* Strong governance, control and systems knowledge
* Preferred candidate has one or more professional designations: CA, CMA, CFA
* MBA and/or knowledge in statistical math desirable but not required
* Polished and professional, self motivated individual with strong communication skills
* Proven track record of building positive relationships; demonstrated ability to navigate and influence corporate teams to join in initiatives for the broader benefit of the Company
* Attention to detail
* Fluent in English, strong report writing and PowerPoint presentation skills
* Willingness to travel from time to time (generally Montreal)
