Job overview:
The Aquatic & Wellness Department is looking for an individual with proven leadership abilities, supervisory skills, and strong customer-service orientation who is responsible and well organized with experience working in a busy aquatic environment as part of a team and will require a great deal of energy and enthusiasm for the fields of aquatics.
Main responsibilities:
Working together with the Aquatic Supervising Manager and pool staff, the Aquatic Supervisor is responsible for the overall coordination and operation of all activities on the pool deck. They will ensure safe standards are upheld as well as maintaining the highest standard of customer service excellence with all customers. This coordinator will be very self-motivated, creative, and have the ability to maintain strong interpersonal relationships within their team and with all staff. The ability to communicate well and listen to others while maintaining a positive attitude is essential. The successful candidate must be able to work in a fast paced multiuse facility. Duties will include orientation, schedules, programming, quality control, mentoring, Health and Safety procedures, inventories, ordering, budget tracking, team goal setting, customer follow up, incident follow up, and the ability to handle any situations that arise. The candidates will have excellent problem solving skills, be analytical, and show attention to detail in ensuring the highest standards are set and followed. Experience in a busy aquatic environment will be useful.
Qualifications:
The candidate will be 18 years of age and will have current Standard First Aid or AEC with CPR Level ’C’/ AED (within one year). The successful candidate must demonstrate knowledge of Health & Safety Legislation and CUPE employment standards. The candidate must be committed to conducting themselves according to the vision, mission, and values set out by the Aquatics and Wellness department and show a keen desire to learn and be a positive role model.
The successful candidates will be required to participate in a rotating shift schedule, based on the operational needs of the department. An open availability is an asset.
