We are seeking a programmer to budget, plan, deliver and evaluate fun, well-rounded programs for pre-school children, daycamps and deliver curriculum based programs to elementary children. Rate of Pay is $22.26/hour as per the CUPE Collective Agreement-Program Instructor V.

Main responsibilities:
Our programmer will be responsible for creating and maintaining a fun, safe, clean environment and program for participants. You will develop & deliver dynamic nature based programming to children ages 1-12. You will need the ability to have fun, play, learn, and create with child directed themes and activities. The desire to be a positive role model to the families and participants in our facility is crucial. You will operate the program within a designated budget and perform administration/filing of program paperwork, evaluations and statistics as required. You will need to have knowledge and experience delivering children’s programming. A positive attitude and a desire to create quality programs will make you a great addition to our team

Qualifications:
• Experience in a child centred learning environment. Knowledge of school curriculum is an asset
• Education in post-secondary education in a child/recreation related field
• Standard First-Aid, CPR level C and AED
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s licence and transportation
• Criminal Records Check (Police Information Check)and Intervention Records Check
• The ability to present yourself in a positive and professional manner through tactful communication (both verbal and written) with co-workers, participants and parents
• Be self-motivated, flexible and able to organize your work to maintain tasks within established standards and timelines
• The ability to work well both independently and within a team
• The confidence to make on the spot decisions
• Commitment & desire to fulfill this position based on the Muskoseepi Park program calendar and a busy summer schedule
• Creative and enthusiastic approaches when guiding children and creating lasting memories

Hours of work:
40 hour work week. Normal shifts are 8:00am-4:00pm or 8:30am-4:30pm Monday to Friday
Training & requested programs may take place outside of normal hours
