Our Burnaby RCMP Detachment is looking for an auxiliary employee on a “as and when needed” on-call basis to escort visitors who do not have security clearance and to assist with routine and basic filing and clerical work. In addition to escorting visitors, this position may help file a variety of standard cards, forms, folders and reports according to departmental procedures. Additionally, this position may copy information from files as requested, obtain copies of correspondence and related items and stamps incoming mail, deliver and picks up files or material to be filed and perform other related work required.
The ideal candidate will have:
Up to completion of high school or an equivalent combination of training and experience
Ability to learn routine office tasks and operation of related office equipment in a policing environment
Good oral and written communication skills
Ability to work independently
Experience in respectfully and effectively dealing with the public
Must obtain and maintain an RCMP Enhanced Security clearance.
The hours of work for this position may vary between 4 to 8 hours per shift. Staff in this role must be available on-call between the hours of 07:00-18:00 Monday to Friday.
