Veg Pro International is a Canadian company of nearly 600 employees, and growing, and whose head office is located in Sherrington, Montérégie (just 25 minutes from the Champlain Bridge and the Mercier Bridge). It is a North American leader in the production, processing and packaging of ready to eat lettuce sold under the brand name "Fresh Attitude". It’s products are found in most major grocery chains in Quebec, Ontario and the U.S. east coast.

Vert Nature is the agricultural division Veg Pro International and has over 2000 acres of land in Quebec and around 1400 in Florida for its annual production of seedlings of lettuce (spinach, arugula, mesclun, etc..), Carrots and onions.

Under the supervision of the Production Coordinator in collaboration with the agronomist, you will manage the spraying and fertilizer applications in terms of plant-protection for all of our production (Quebec and Florida). You will have under your supervision a team of approximately 6 employees.

You role will include:
    Plan and prioritize weekly and daily operations of your department (irrigation, spraying or site preparation).
    Communicate the sequence of work to be done to the team.
    Perform rigorous monitoring of the progress and quality of operations, to ensure compliance with deadlines, standards and procedures.
    Ensure regular communication with supervisors in other departments (harvesting, site preparation, planting, etc..)
    Analyze and recommend working methods and equipment to optimize the effectiveness and efficiency of operations.
    Train employees, promote the development of their skills and maintain a good team spirit.
    Complete, check and enter the different relations of production in the system management operations.
    Make a sound management of materials / equipment in the department

Requirements:
    DEC TPHE, management and operation of agricultural enterprises (FMT) or any relevant training combined with three (3) to five (5) years of experience in managing production operations;
    Relevant experience in personnel management;
    Have a license to spray and a valid driver's license;
    Intermediate Microsoft Office (word, excel, outlook) after knowledge;
    The incumbent must be available to work in Florida from November to May approx.
    Fluency of spoken and written French, intermediate Spanish skills in oral (important asset), knowledge of spoken English (an asset).
