Broadcast Planning Senior Architect and Project Manager

The Bell TV Broadcast Engineering & Operations Team is committed to delivering Canada’s best content and services to our customers through next-generation services for TV (Satellite and Fibe TV), as well as the introduction of new technologies and products across Bell’s coast-to-coast network. We build and deliver stunning picture quality and reliable service for all of Bell’s video services and manage a fleet of Bell’s satellites with 24 hour support. Working within the Broadcast Planning team you will be working in a dynamic fast paced environment, and responsible for helping to contribute your knowledge, expertise, and help successfully deliver key projects across all areas of the Bell TV team.

Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the introduction of new technologies, features and services at our Super Video Head End.
* Work collaboratively with other internal teams in building out the ongoing network plans and recommendations to support improved capacity and robustness.
* Use your experience and knowledge to help propose, recommend, document, and drive technical and process improvements within our head end infrastructure.
* Lead the planning and scoping activities for new project opportunities, and multi-year strategic plans, with internal team members, vendors, and external stakeholders.
* Work collaboratively with a broad range of technical resources in the team and various Business stakeholders in the delivery and execution of projects.
* Lead the delivery of multiple projects simultaneously with varying scope, timelines, and importance within the team.
* Establish and chair recurring internal and/or cross functional meetings to facilitate the delivery of projects. Record minutes/actions from these meetings and proactively drive follow-ups with the team members.
* Provide regular reporting of project status, accomplishments, forthcoming milestones, and challenges to Management and Executive team members.
* Closely track and report on Project budget/spending and driving financial awareness and responsibility with the project team members.
* Establish and build partnerships with other Bell teams and vendors involved in your projects.
* Seek out opportunities for improving the way we deliver new technology, features, and services. Research the use of best technologies and best practices of running projects to help guide and build consistency and alignment amongst your peers.

Required Qualifications:
* University degree/College Diploma and related working experience required.
* Minimum 5-7 years experience in a network Broadcast/Telecom role.
* Working experience with Broadcast and/or Network Systems architecture design, implementation, operation, and support systems.
* Knowledge and working experience with Broadcast delivery and transport mechanisms, transport protocols, video encoding/encryption/compression/multiplexing techniques.
* Understanding of IP network infrastructure, video processing, trans-coding, and mass storage & data delivery systems.
* Strong leadership skills to manage cross functional project teams and complex technical issues.
* Excellent communication skills (verbally and in writing).
* Project Management training and experience building and tracking Project plans.
* Demonstrated success in leading the delivery of projects involving multiple individuals and teams.
* Detail oriented and demonstrated ability to quickly build working knowledge and understanding of detailed technology related items.
* Ability to work and thrive in a fast paced, changing environment and managing multiple simultaneous projects.
* Experience in understanding and tracking project spending and budgets, Capital and Operational spending, financial terms and requirements.
* Strong interpersonal skills. Must be a team player and ability to communicate with technical & non-technical individuals, as well as Management and Executive teams.
* Experience in use of network management utilities and systems, Broadcast engineering and operational support & troubleshooting tools.
* Use and strong understanding of Project Management tools and software, as well as MS Office utilities.
