Finmaven is looking for software engineering generalists who will work up and down the entire technology stack to build new features and products to drive the continued success of our social media monitoring and analytics business.
At Finmaven, full-stack engineers work in all aspects of agile application development, from DB schema design through Java business logic to advanced Javascript on the frontend. They also work with industry-leading, big data technologies (e.g. Storm) – our products are driven by data after all!
The right applicant will thrive in an environment where independent decision-making based on product requirements is the norm. Individuals in this role will want to work on our many open-ended problems and will have an opinion when it comes to selecting the right tool/technology for the job (and the ability to explain why!).

Position requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related field or equivalent experience
* Experience with JVM or the modern Java stack (i.e., worked with Storm or Kafka)
* Polyglot developer with excellent command of Java, C++, or JavaScript
* Object-oriented application development experience
* Strong understanding of various web technologies and frameworks
* Good NoSQL database experience (MongoDB, Redis)
* Understanding of client-side performance and Javascript
* Experience with consumer facing high traffic web applications a major plus
* Passion for new technologies and driven to build the best products
